A Very Happy New Year to you and welcome to SmartOtels’ blog new look – we hope you like it. We anticipate 2015 being an exciting new year for SmartOtels with many changes focused on generating even more business for our client resorts and hotels.
As I write, Joaquin is on his way to attend Destinations Manchester for the first time. Although a B2C show, Destinations Manchester is a great chance to meet some contacts and start on generating new business for our client resorts and hotels, which we might not otherwise be able to develop as early. The North West of England, along with other regions of England and, of course, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are each home to many important tour operators and agents and we intend to be getting away from London much more in 2015 than was possible last year.
In the meantime, we are also preparing for a first double event: at the end of January, Joaquin will be attending FITUR in Madrid and meeting many important tour operator and agent contacts in the Spanish and other EU markets, whilst simultaneously Matthew attends Destinations London – at least as important as its Manchester equivalent.
February brings the National Wedding Show in London followed by the Business Travel Show, Travel Technology Europe, also in London and the National Wedding Show in Birmingham which SmartOtels will also be attending for the first time in the U.K’s second city. The first week of March brings ITB Berlin, which SmartOtels attended last year and will attend again, representing a wider range of resorts and hotels than we did last year.
Along with these main trade shows, SmartOtels will also be at other important networking events, such as East Meets West Club this Friday and Chinese New Year FEAR – an event for the travel trade engaged in generating tourism to countries in South East Asia.
Of course, what really matters is not that SmartOtels will be at all these events but that, as a result, our client resorts and hotels will be visible at these very important events, raising their profiles even further in the U.K. and Europe in a way that would be very costly for them to do themselves.
As we wouldn’t just want to tell you about the state of our diaries, we do definitely expect not only to attend Destinations shows but to be letting you know about new destinations SmartOtels will be representing in the months and years ahead, which makes the first few months of 2015 a very exciting time indeed for us and, we hope, for you too.
